ALEX ACHEAMPONG FOUNDATION

HELPING THOSE MOST IN NEED

In 2014, the Lord blessed Alex with a baby, born at 24 weeks. Humanly, there was no hope for her to survive. Doctors predicted an awful lot of serious health complications if she lives. She was admitted at the Neonatal Intensive Care for 100 days. However, by God’s grace, she survived without any complications. Today, she is very healthy and adorable. Her survival was partly due to the availability of medical facilities for preterm babies in the UK.

In Ghana, however, unfortunately, many of these babies even born at 36 weeks die partly as a result of lack of medical facilities. As a father of a preterm baby, to know that many premature babies are dying under such conditions really breaks my heart. It is against this background that Alex Acheampong Foundation [AAF], a charitable arm of Alex Acheampong Ministries was formed to support premature babies.

Consequently, at the moment, the foundation has 7 Hospitals to support with medical equipment. The first on the list is the Asamang SDA Hospital. Following a visit to the Asamang SDA Hospital and an appeal from the Hospital’s medical directors for medical equipment to support their mother and baby unit, the Foundation in line with their request, intends to donate the following: an incubator, monitor and pulse oximeter, phototherapy set, scrubs, cot sheets, eye shields and infant milks to the Asamang SDA Hospital by July 2019.

The foundation lives saving agenda continues. Also, it saves lives by providing food and clothes to orphans and widows. In relation to these responsibilities, the foundation has pencilled down the names of 2 orphans and that of 5 widows in the Brong Ahafo region, Ghana to support at the appropriate time.

In line with Alex Acheampong’s personal experiences as a father of a premature baby and having lost his father at a very young age and couple with the fact his mother remains a widow, the foundation’s aim is in three folds:

OUR AIM

To provide medical equipment to Hospitals that give care to premature babies.

To relieve lack of material needs for orphans.

To prevent lack of material needs for widows.

PLEASE SUPPORT THE FOUNDATION

The aims of the foundation can be achieved by raising funds from Alex Acheampong’s album sales, musical concerts as well as seeking financial support from donors. With God on our side, together with the team and sponsors, we have the power to transform the lives of those most in need.
